It’s the 2024 half way mark and we’ve been keeping our heads down at Reach Robotics – our engineers are busy pushing the limits of our available systems and developing new technology to meet operator requirements. Today, we’re resurfacing to celebrate some highlights from the past 6 months!

🦾 We expanded the Reach X robotic manipulator lineup to include modular systems in 2, 3 and 5 functions. These latest models benefit users with different vehicle sizes and capability requirements. The modular systems are designed with operator requirements at the forefront – dexterity, serviceability and reliability.

🕹️ We released the Command Pods for the most intuitive kinematic control experience of Reach X manipulators when integrated on an ROV. These control devices were designed with direct input from field operators to tick all the right boxes – and then some! Learn more about how the Command Pods allow a single operator to control the ROV and robotic manipulators from one system.

🌏 Our production count ticked over a new milestone with 900+ units to 30+ countries. It’s no secret that our state-of-the-art robotic manipulators are hard to build and we’re proud of our Production Team’s commitment to manufacturing excellence. If you’re curious about our in-house Production Team, learn about our facilities and quality control methods.

🚀 We shipped the first Reach X Advanced Intervention System internationally. The Reach X robotic manipulator system redefines the scope of possibility for underwater intervention – we are excited to see our customers around the world adopting it to expand their intervention capabilities.

✈️ Our Sales Team have been jetsetting around the world – hosting demos, attending trade shows and meeting key clients the the UK, USA and Japan. Recent months have seen us exhibit at Offshore Technology Conference in Texas as well as Underwater Defence Technology and Oceanology International in London. We have also visited clients and conducted field-demo’s with our trusted partners. Chat to our Sales Teams if you’d like to see a specific application or discuss which manipulator is right for your requirements.

💡 Did you miss our latest product theory release? We elaborated on the different input control devices you can interface with to operate a robotic manipulator. Our engineers break down the most common human-machine interfaces (HMI) and show our advanced solutions – catch up here.

The second half of 2024 is jam packed with more exciting tech in development and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on! Stay in touch with out sales team in your region via sales@reachrobotics.com.

Command Pods

Command Pods are a pair of space mouse controllers comprising of left and right units. They are designed to attach to an ROV control tablet and allow full system control from one interface. The Command Pod configuration simplifies control of a dual-manipulator system as operators are able to intuitively control both arms, while still piloting the vehicle.
The joystick model allows for arms to be directed towards a target while the system automatically maps the arms configuration along that path.

MASTER ARMS

Compatible with all Reach Robotics manipulators, the Master Arm controller is available in five and seven-function models to mimic your robotic arm. Achieve unparalleled precision and accuracy while undertaking complex tasks including:
  • Precise placement of probes for crack and corrosion monitoring.
  • Place and recover objects with unmatched dexterity and minimised
    workload.
  • Attach hooks and shackles consistently.
  • Reach confined areas unreachable with lower degree-of-freedom manipulators
    and traditional control methods.
