Electric Manipulator
TOUGH, SMART ROBOTIC ARMS
Reach Robotics’ electric manipulator arm systems offer best-in-class performance and lift capacity with a lightweight design. They are available in configurations of up to 6 Degrees of Freedom, 7-function manipulator arms. Our advanced manipulators multiply the capability and efficiency of a human operator when combined with our operator control unit, Reach Control, and the Master Arm.
Advanced Electric Manipulator For Harsh Environment
Our multifunction and rotating electric manipulators are designed for uncrewed ground vehicles, underwater ROVs, and other platforms; they are built to withstand the pressures of the deep and can be deployed in subsea, nuclear, and land domains with confidence.

FAQ's ABOUT MANIPULATOR ARM
What Are the Functions of Electric Manipulator Arms?
- In an electric manipulator arm, a degree of freedom (DoF) is counted for each independent joint that provides freedom of movement. This can be in a translational (linear) or rotational sense.Â
- A degree of freedom, however, can be used when describing a function that does not result in ‘freedom’. That is, it does not move the orientation or position of the end-effector or tool. This is often a set of jaws for a Reach Robotics electric manipulator. This provides a function but not a degree of freedom. This is why the Bravo 7, for example, is a 7-Function, 6 DoF manipulator, with one function being the opening/closing of the jaws.
Which Configuration Should I Choose?
The configuration for your electric manipulator arm will depend on your use case. Contact Us to find out which electric arm configuration best suits your needs.
What Are the Application Areas/ Use Cases of Reach Robotics Electric Manipulator?
The Reach Alpha subsea electric manipulator arm is built for portable underwater ROVs such as the BlueROV2. The Reach Alpha is ideal for close Inspection (Visual and NDT) in confined spaces, attachment of hooks, securing vehicle position, cutting, and object retrieval. The Reach Bravo electric work class manipulator is designed for inspection class ROVs such as the Saab Seaeye Falcon or the Seatronics VALOR. In addition, the Reach Bravo is ideal for turning control valves, manipulating tools in unstructured environments, and conducting NDT.
How Easy Is Installing Electric Manipulator?
The Reach Alpha has successfully been integrated onto popular portable underwater ROVs such as the SRS Fusion and Blueye X3. The Reach Bravo has been successfully integrated onto inspection class vehicles popular in Offshore Energy industries, including the Saab Seaeye Falcon. With remote assistance available from Reach Robotics’ Technical Support Team based in the UK, USA and Australia, help is always on call to support operators in the field.
CAPPED PRICE SERVICING
Every 1 year (or 200 hours of use, whichever comes first) a Reach Manipulator must be returned to the Reach Robotics facility for maintenance. Cap the price of this service and avoid the hassle later on, by purchasing our Capped Price Servicing Package with your product. A great time-saver down the line, if your procurement process is long and arduous.
