Between 7-9 November 2023, Reach Robotics attended the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition held in Sydney’s Darling Harbour. Partnered with Investment NSW at stand 2N1, Reach Robotics exhibited alongside primes of the local Australian marine-industry including service providers and advanced technology manufacturers.

Indo Pacific is one of the largest events for maritime and commercial marine sectors in the region open only to trade, and has significant support from the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Government Department of Defence and the State Government of NSW.

Reach Robotics presence at Indo Pacific 2023 was especially notable as it marked the first public unveiling and demonstration of the new Reach X Advanced Intervention System. Reach X is a best-in-class manipulator which expands the scope of remote operation capability within naval military landscapes. Developed collaboratively with operators from Australian and US critical forces, this system was designed to keep humans out of harms way.

To celebrate the release of Reach X, Reach Robotics hosted its inaugural ‘Beers & Bots’ event at its Sydney headquarters. The event was open to the company’s broad industry network and facilitated the development key conversations and relationships.

Command Pods

Command Pods are a pair of space mouse controllers comprising of left and right units. They are designed to attach to an ROV control tablet and allow full system control from one interface. The Command Pod configuration simplifies control of a dual-manipulator system as operators are able to intuitively control both arms, while still piloting the vehicle.
The joystick model allows for arms to be directed towards a target while the system automatically maps the arms configuration along that path.

Compatible with all Reach Robotics manipulators, the Master Arm controller is available in five and seven-function models to mimic your robotic arm. Achieve unparalleled precision and accuracy while undertaking complex tasks including:
  • Precise placement of probes for crack and corrosion monitoring.
  • Place and recover objects with unmatched dexterity and minimised
    workload.
  • Attach hooks and shackles consistently.
  • Reach confined areas unreachable with lower degree-of-freedom manipulators
    and traditional control methods.
